“Patience and Persistence”
Patience teaches us to endure time and change with gentleness and wisdom. It does not come easily and, hence, the need for steadfastness and persistence. All our goals in the subjective as well as objective life require constant effort. Patience with ourselves and others comes with self-knowledge.
“With patience and ever awakened self-consciousness and with mind firmly established on the Self, let the Yogi attain to the state of subjective serenity by degrees. Let no other objective whatsoever delude the mind.”
Srimad-Bhagavad-Gita 6:25
Translation by Swami Premananda
“The cultivation of patience is requisite to happiness: it is that little bit of transcendental peace that blesses our daily life. Without it, we cannot feel the joy of self-unfoldment. Our patience is the awareness of the ever abiding perfecting self within.”
