“Blessed Are You”
Sunday Bulletin

The sermons offered by great souls to listening ears could at times be like seeds that fall upon fertile soil, and at times like seeds that fall upon the rocks. Whether it was Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount or Buddha’s first message in Deer Park, Moses at Mount Sinai or the first teaching of the Prophet Muhammad at Mecca, some who heard the words were ready for deeper realization and others may have been closed to the sublime messages.

Ultimately, each of us have experiences that help us to unfold spiritually at different stages. We may not all be ready to realize the true nature of our soul but gradually we are guided to truth.

“In the solitary chambers of my heart abides Thou, O Supreme Lord. With sense organs wondrously infused with Thy cosmic powers, unto Thee I surrender all my thoughts and deeds. Blessed by Thy divine effulgence, enshrined in my soul I become pure, strong and calm, facing all vicissitudes of life with peace and confidence.”

Rig Veda

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth. Blessed are those which do hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”

Sermon on the Mount
