“Bhakti Yoga: True Devotion”

Love is the essence of life. What other quality but love do we manifest from the very beginning of our appearance on this earth? It is a source of transformative power that awakens us and others to higher principles of life. When love is awakened within us, we perceive love, hear of love, speak of love and think of love, everywhere and always. Realizing love everywhere, we seek to injure no one.

“When we allow feelings of comparison, insufficiency, and separation to creep into our love we experience love that is confined or ‘attached.’ Love that is thus spoiled by the ego becomes an alloy, its purity lost. No wonder it becomes the cause of difficulties and suffering. In a purer human love we learn to open wide the door to the heart and then pass through it into the limitless pure love of God.”

Reflections on Still Waters
Swami Kamalananda

“The religion of love accepts all; it rejects none. A devotee loves all, God and God’s creation. But, in his love for the created, he does not forget the creator. This is the beauty and secret of the path of devotion. He remembers God always, and in everything. This constant remembering purifies the heart and awakens an intense love for God, a love that desires nothing but God.”
