“With Each Step”

Every step we take carries forward a life of both hope and pain, joy and sorrow, love and loss, prayer and peace. With each step may we recognize the care and attention necessary to step both boldly and gently into our day.

“A wise person does not allow outer conditions to rule his inner life. He knows no obstacles to contentment and peace. He remembers that his life is guided by an ideal that is spiritual. His ideal helps him to discriminate between important and unnecessary attentions. He knows when to overlook, when to sympathize, when to devote every strength and when to commit his heart. His happiness is secure in the wisdom of his ideal, God.”

Reflections on Still Waters

”Learn to do small things in an extraordinary way.”

Swami Yogananda

“The wandering monk wanders along the path of life to reach what destination? And to attain what goal? The goal is known only to his intuition and not to his intellect. He is a recluse. The young renunciate walks slowly. He is not in a hurry; he stops, casting his glance about and around and wondering about the mysterious maya of nature, and then he resumes his known-unknown journey. He is a pilgrim.”

Swami Premananda
Prayers of Soul

“It is inherent in us, imperfect though we are, ceaselessly to strive after perfection. In our attempt we fall into reverie. We are just as a child who tries to stand, falls down again and again, and ultimately learns how to walk.”

Mahatma Gandhi
