“Transformations of Nature”
Sunday Bulletin

The changing conditions of duality reflect the qualities of Prakriti. We see it before us in the changing seasons and the effects on our surroundings and all living creatures. We also see it in ourselves, physically and mentally. But what lies beneath all the flux and change?

“Verily no one can ever exist even for a moment without performing action, because the Gunas, the qualities, born of Prakriti, Nature, force all to incessantly activate.”

”All actions are performed by the Gunas born of Prakriti. But one whose power of discrimination is deluded by egoism thinks, ‘I am the doer.’”

O Lord, what are the signs of one who has risen above the three Gunas? What is the mode of his conduct and how does he surmount the Gunas?”

”O Pandava, he who does not turn aways from the pure light of truth, nor abhor the impulsion to egoistic action, nor hate delusion, nor impatient long for their presence or absence,

”Who rests in the equanimity of the Self and unshaken, realizing that the Gunas alone are performing their actions.”

Srimad-Bhagavad-Gita
Translation by Swami Premananda

“The whole activity of Nature exists so that the soul may emerge through successive and progressive experiences to realize that it is free in the Absolute. When the soul knows that it is free from the differentiation and form of the external Nature, then it has learned its lesson well! When it perceives its oneness with the soul of Nature, it is whole.”
