“Ways of Knowing”
What are the ways of knowing by which we not only understand but faithfully abide by true wisdom? Self-reflection and self-study lead to self-knowledge. What is knowledge of the Self? A person who can see through the multitude of physical forms and worldly attachments, sees through the illusion of maya and can concentrate the mind on what is Real. In the purity of the mind one can establish the light of truth in life.
“The thought of universal peace destroys the walls of self-limiting concepts which each builds around himself and thereby exaggerates his own suffering. The prerequisite for sending out the radiation of peace is one’s own living in poise, mental calmness and transcendental vision. The basic principle of compassion and joyousness is the feeling of oneness with all that surrounds us together with the realization of transcendental identity in absolute perfection. Equanimity is attained and preserved only when a man can keep his mind free from becoming identified with the objective world. Peace is possible only for the free mind and not for the mind that is enslaved by the emotions. Action must bring peace to its performer, for the universal manifestation most surely carries within itself the power of peace.”
The Way of Wisdom and Self-Liberation
Swami Premananda
“When all things appear as nothing else but the Self in manifestation, what delusion and what sorrow can ever disturb the illumined consciousness of the wise man who beholds such Oneness?”

Eight Upanishads
“Unto thee I shall speak fully of this wisdom born of direct realization, knowing which there remains nothing else to be known in this ephemeral world. Among thousands of men scarcely one strives for spiritual perfection. And among those who striving successfully have become blessed, one knows me in my absolute nature.”
Srimad-Bhagavad-Gita 7:2-3
